Our Story
Mafat Patel, co-founder of Patel Brothers, grew up in Bhandu village in the Mehsana district of the state of Gujarat, India. In 1968, Mafat moved to the USA. His education in Mechanical Engineering was followed up with an MBA at Indiana University. Mafat started missing the Indian food and ingredients that he grew up with: Khichadi, Turmeric, Rice Flour and so much more. He realized that his pain wasn’t unique. Many other Indian immigrants in his Chicago community felt the same longing for Indian food and ingredients.
